Job Overview
Shriners Children’s Salt Lake City, is seeking a full-time Scheduling Coordinator to join our POPS team! This position provides support to the Orthotics Department in the areas of reception, clerical duties and frequent communication with hospital staff, patients, and their families. Additionally, this position supports the department manager in completion of administrative tasks and departmental operations.

Responsibilities
- Serves as gatekeeper for co,communication to the departments, including answering phone, greeting visitors, assessing the nature of the communication and responding in an appropriate manner.
- Provides secretarial nd clerical support for the department managers and staff to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of work within the department.
- Performs various clerical support tasks on an ongoing basis.
- Compiles and maintains a variety of departmental records and reports to ensure confidentiality.
- Coordinates special projects as assigned.
- Keeps department, staff, and patient schedules including IOTP schedules updated and directs patients and staff appropriately.
- Promptly and courteously answers the telephone, prioritizes incoming calls and messages, and links caller with the appropriate party within or outside the department.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Two years of experience in a health-care office/Scheduling & Registration setting is preferred
Excellent customer service skills
Multi-line telephone experience
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power-Point and Outlook)
Strong ability to prioritize and organize projects and tasks in a timely manner
Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
