Tribute Baking Company is the strategic combination of five businesses with rich histories in the baking industry! Always Bagels, Original Bagel, Hometown Foods USA, Dutch Maid and Just Bagels, together, create a market leading producer of authentic New York style kettle-boiled, hearth-baked bagels and high-quality cake products sold into the in-store bakery, club store, foodservice, and convenience store channels.

Reporting to the head of our Food Service business, the Food Services National Sales Manager will provide strategic guidance and build strong relationships across the distributor portfolio network through collaborative planning and execution. This position will drive performance and influence distributors’ agreement for expanding the availability and sale of Tribute Baking products and future innovation products while building the capability of and inspiring distributor sales representatives to grow our Foodservice presence.

The ideal candidate is highly customer-focused and possess the ability to work in a fast growing company that requires a multi-tasking “can do” detail-oriented attitude. The ideal candidate is quick, smart, meticulous, flexible, a creative problem solver, promotes teamwork between departments and is tenacious about achieving organizational goals. Having experience working in the food industry is a requirement.

The Food Services National Sales Manager will call on customers across the US. While the position is remote, the ideal candidate will be located in the South East, Midwest, or mid-Atlantic regions of the US. Travel is required.


Duties/Responsibilities- May Include Other Duties As Required And Assigned

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with distributors like DOT, Sysco, PFG, and GFS and their end customers to set strategies to grow profitably.
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, and product management to provide distributors with effective category management strategies that grow value share.
  • Manage/Lead the RFP process and take charge with customer insight gathering, price intelligence, forecasting, customer development planning, customer service delivery, and contract/price management.
  • Establish strong connections with operators and identify new business opportunities based on market and product knowledge.
  • Develop new business and increase profitability within existing accounts.
  • Oversee the entire sales process and budget, reporting on performance against targets.
  • Stay informed on market trends and competitor offerings to inform sales strategy.
  • Serve as liaison between customers and internal teams to meet customer requirements and ensure a positive experience.
  • Work with design and product teams to enhance offerings based on market needs and consumer appeal.
  • Use Netsuite CRM to manage territory and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver product knowledge and insights on market trends to clients.
  • Provide regular updates on sales activities, strategy, and territory planning to the SVP of Sales & Marketing.
  • Oversee customer accounts and sales projects as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of successful performance in a sales role
  • Experience developing relationship with and selling into food services distributors and operators
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, creative thinking, problem-solving, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to build rapport and relationships with customers, brokers, and Tribute Baking team
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, anticipate and navigate issues to meet customer and Tribute expectations
  • Proven self organizational and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to building a career path
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office applications: Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Travel to customers is required – approximately 25%; Must have reliable transportation

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or an associate degree in relevant fields
  • Systems knowledge: Netsuite (ERP)
