About The Role…

Join Duolingo’s Localization team to establish Duo’s localized voice in new languages and markets.

We are looking for a strategic operator who can help us grow our suite of languages, facilitating delightful localized experiences across all of our course subjects. You’ll help us plan, facilitate, and launch high-quality content to our key markets and audiences. You will be responsible for scaling localized content creation for our launch and product marketing pipelines, in collaboration with marketing, design, product, and engineering.

You will…

  • Drive language and feature launches, developing project plans and timelines with cross-functional partners; identify risks, address dependencies, and mitigate roadblocks
  • Advocate for automation and system improvements, leveraging technology to make processes repeatable and transparent
  • Own tracking and data visualization for your localization vertical, to improve planning, decision-making, and prioritization
  • Cultivate relationships with key partners to develop a localization strategy and roadmap for your area
  • Collaborate across internal teams (marketing, product, design, engineering) and external partners (agencies, freelancers) to build localization standards and minimize downstream issues

You have…

  • Localization project management experience. You have demonstrated strong operational / organizational / project management ability, such as experience building and scaling processes from the ground up
  • Collaboration skills. Partner with functions across the company—such as engineering, QA, product management, content development, and senior leadership—to ensure communication across teams and to foster collaboration across stakeholders
  • Tech-savviness. You are proficient in managing and scaling workloads using technology
  • Strong communication skills. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience working in localization in a fast-paced, high-growth environment;
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or above;
  • Experience driving results in a cross-functional environment;
  • Proven ability to create and execute detailed plans accounting for ambiguity, dependencies, and technical complexity in an agile environment;
  • Ability to work full-time from or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY

Exceptional candidates will have…

  • Experience working in edtech or consumer tech
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in a foreign language
