Come and join Strategic Policy, Legislation and Reform at the Department. We are looking for someone who can support the Deputy Director-General and leaders of Strategic Policy, Legislation and Reform in the delivery of a range of policies, process documentation and executive support activities. You will lead the executive correspondence functions within SPL&R, providing analysis and advice in relation to issues impacting on the development and management of correspondence and briefing notes. You will also develop, implement and maintain systems and practices that facilitate and contribute to improved efficiency within SPL&R.

  • Work as part of a small team to develop, implement and maintain effective administrative systems for the division, including systems relating to the management of executive correspondence and discussion paper response across SPL&R.
  • Ensure the efficient operations of day-to-day activities of SPL&R and maintain knowledge across relevant work programs.
  • Prepare and quality assure correspondence and briefing materials, including Cabinet related material, for consideration by the Minister, Director-General, and Deputy Director-General.
  • Provide or coordinate the provision of timely, high-quality advice and/or support to the division on the management of executive correspondence documents and information as required.
  • Develop and maintain networks within the Department and across government to support the delivery of high-quality executive and support services to the Office the Deputy Director-General.
  • Participate in team discussions, team planning, and other relevant projects as required to achieve operational and strategic objectives of the Office and the team.
  • Positively contribute to a culture of client service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • As a Senior member of the team, undertake tasks allocated by the Manager ODDG in a constantly changing work environment to support innovation and efficient delivery.
