Hiring Range: $45,047 – $60,813

Chesterfield County Government is seeking a Senior Records Specialist to be responsible for scanning paper records and processing electronic documents into the electronic document management system, quality control and assurance review of submitted information and requested titling, responsible for maintaining accurate filing system of Utilities project folders and reviewing files and submitted information for accuracy. Assist customers by determining the availability of water and sewer for a parcels, research and respond to varied information requests, provide basic mapping information, answer and dispatch incoming telephone calls. Perform other work as required. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.

Successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED with general business training, associate degree preferred, courses in records management, basic clerical and office administration skills, three years’ experience in a record room environment or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent organizational and customer service skills required. Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment where teamwork and cross-training is essential to meeting the needs of customers and the department. Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills necessary. Experience with Microsoft Office products, digital scanners, electronic record applications and problem solving/analytical skills desired. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
