The Financial Comptroller represents the Group (and its objectives) in all financial matters (except Treasury). This includes acting on all resolutions of Top, Group and Unit Management; ratifying and ensuring implementation of business plans; ensuring all financial processes and documentation are in accordance with policies and statutes.

Duties And Responsibilities

Technical Duties

  • Oversees Accounting and Payable departments provision of financial data requests by units and ensuring payable transactions are compliant with commercial contracts and government statutes.
  • Coordinates with Group and Unit Accounting teams to come up with timely and fairly presented, updated financial statements and reports
  • Coordinates with the Treasury on top level collection and disbursement concerns.
  • Works with HR payroll and admin to resolve/rectify finance related concerns
  • Works with ICT, ITG and units in optimizing and improving accounting systems of Unit and Group
  • Enforces and improves as needed the internal control system of Unit and Group Management. This includes (but not limited to) credit and collection, inventory, payable, advances etc., works with Unit management in enforcing unit finance policies and controls. This includes (but not limited to) credit and collection and inventory policies.
  • Works with ECS and units in ensuring proper and timely filing of external reports, returns.
  • Provides unit and group management relevant and important financial data/reports and analyses needed for strategic business decisions. This includes providing strategic options for management consideration.
  • Ensures organization is knowledgeable of finance policies. This includes conducting orientation, disseminating memos to all concerned and hosting regular coordination meetings with units
  • Updates group and unit management on progress of finance programs, projects, and important concerns.

Managerial Duties

  • Coaches and mentors team members to ensure maximum productivity without sacrificing employee engagement
  • Identifies training needs of team members; works with Director for Finance and Compliance in identifying career paths of team members

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
  • Must be a licensed CPA
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in general accounting and financial management gained from similar industries and group types set up
  • At least five (5) years of senior management experience
  • Proficiency in planning and budgeting
  • Proficiency in Finance and Tax laws
  • Proficiency in Philippine Financial Reporting System
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google apps
