Role Description
This is a remote role for a Indonesian OPI/VRI Interpreter at AsiaLocalize. The Interpreter will be responsible for providing accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation services during OPI/VRI sessions. They will ensure clear communication between parties and uphold confidentiality and professionalism throughout each session.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and clear interpretation of verbal communication between Indonesian-speaking patients and healthcare providers.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards such as HIPAA.
- Accurately interpret complex medical terminology in both languages.
- Facilitate communication and ensure understanding between healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring cultural sensitivity.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in Indonesian and English (both spoken and written) is required.
- Proven experience in medical interpretation, certification in medical interpretation Is a MUST (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology in both languages.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations and maintain professionalism.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity when interacting with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with legal and ethical standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends (if necessary).
MUST have Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a medical interpreter or in a healthcare setting.
- Certification or accreditation in medical interpretation.
