What We’re Looking For

This position specifically supports the mission of the university through providing guidance and counseling to prospective students to help achieve the freshman strategic enrollment management goals for each incoming class and term. The Regional Assistant Director of Admissions, housed within the department of Undergraduate Admissions, represents Baylor and coordinates regional recruitment in key markets, establishing new relationships and networks in those markets to gain application numbers through the enrollment funnel to attract students who are an academic, social and financial fit for Baylor University.

A bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant work experience are required. A master’s degree and five years of relevant experience are preferred.

Additional education or experience will be considered in lieu of one another

A valid United States Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.

This position is based in Houston, TX.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a geographic territory and strategically work with prospective students within that territory from point of inquiry to final matriculation.
  • Manage daily correspondence from prospective students using a wide variety of communication channels. Use data to develop territory-specific outbound communication.
  • Leverage advanced Slate query techniques to identify application files to complete.
  • Develop and maintain a financial aid strategy with intermediate-level financial aid knowledge, proficiently counseling students on common financial aid practices and Baylor-specific processes.
  • Create and sustain high-quality relationships with Baylor’s feeder high schools; regularly updating college counseling staff at select high schools on Baylor’s admission policies and university programs.
  • Work with Admissions Counseling Leadership team to administrate enrollment goals and strategic planning as needed.
  • Strategize high-impact recruitment initiatives in a highly competitive landscape.
  • Partner with Baylor constituents in key markets to develop cohesive Baylor presence in territory.
  • Actively strengthen our presence and consistently engage with the regional admissions network in territory while driving strategic initiatives.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
