Job Description
Systems and equipment include, but are not limited to, support for the following systems:
- CANES
- Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS)/NIAPS
- Host Based Security System (HBSS)
- Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
Technicians will evaluate, troubleshoot, test, repair, and/or provide technical oversight and guidance to correct equipment deficiencies of the CANES and other equipment within CANES. Provide technical support of software/hardware as required to support CANES systems and laptops/workstations onboard surface ships and aircraft carriers. Provide technical level of corrective maintenance, installation and testing of CANES systems. Identify and correct anomalies associated with installation, operation, maintenance, and connectivity problems. Provide distance support via telephone, e-mail, and chat to deployed and local ships for technical and logistic matters associated with CANES (USQ-208) equipment. Perform onboard maintenance training to ship’s force personnel during technical assistance visits to improve ship’s force proficiency in operation and maintenance of CANES.
This position has been designated as a DoD Information Assurance (IA) workforce position in Information Assurance Technician Level II (IAT II) and as a condition of employment
5 years of hands-on experience in the troubleshooting, assessment and repair of the following systems. Experience shall be current; within the last 3 years.
Shall demonstrate specific experience gained in the troubleshooting, repair and assessment on the following systems/equipment:
- Red Hat/Linux
- EMC Storage/Backup Solution
- Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
- Windows Server Update Service (WSUS)
- System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Host Based Security System (HBSS)
- Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS)
- System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
- Blade
