Public Government Affairs Manager

Position key responsibilities and tasks:

Government Relations:

// Build and maintain relationships with government officials, legislators, and regulatory agencies.

Policy Advocacy:

// Research, analyze, and monitor legislative and regulatory issues affecting the organization. Develop and advocate for policy positions.

Legislative Tracking:

// Monitor and track relevant legislation and regulatory changes, providing timely updates to internal stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:

// Collaborate with industry associations, coalitions, and advocacy groups to advance common goals.

Public Affairs Campaigns:

// Develop and execute public affairs campaigns to raise awareness and garner supportfor key issues.

Strategic Planning:

// Create comprehensive government affairs strategies to achieve organizational objectives. Compliance: // Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing lobbying and government relations.

Communication:

// Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, reports, and materials for internal and external stakeholders.

Issue Management:

// Respond to emerging issues and crises that may impact the organization’s reputation or operations.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

// Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, law, or a related field (master’s preferred).

// 8 – 10 years proven experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related role within a multi-national organisation

// Strong understanding of the political and legislative process.

// Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

// Analytical and research abilities to assess policy implications.

// Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

// Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.

// Experience in managing advocacy campaigns is a plus.
