Position Overview

Serves beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely and manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable of mixology, beverage menu engineering. Keeping up to date with latest trends.
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks and/or food.
  • Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard measure and recipes by practicing responsible alcoholic beverage service.
  • Provide beverage and food service to guests in a professional and courteous manner consistent with established standards and levels of excellence.
  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar for the operations, which includes all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, drinkware, straws and stirrers, condiments, produce, etc. based on beverage menu.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory reconciliation, Beer, Spirits, Wine, and storing ensuring product quality.
  • Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest order, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
  • Receives payments from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures receipts are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
  • Remove all inventory and beverage equipment to proper storage.
  • Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and bank.
  • Responsible for sanitation in and around the bar area and beverage storage area. Keeps work station clean at all times.
  • Quality controls of equipment; Dishwasher, fridge, beverage equipment.
  • After event retrieve and store bar glassware to proper storage.
  • Work efficiently, effectively and professionally with other department team members.
  • Expediently communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to the team leader.
  • Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties.
  • Respond to the department management on instructions and directions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

  • Set weekly availability is a requirement.
  • Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate and complete uniform, ready to work.
  • Report to F&B Manager on duty before starting and ending work shift.
  • Attends departmental meetings and training when scheduled.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Valid AGLC ProServe a must.
  • Prior experience with Point of Sale is an asset.
  • Prior bartending experience is a must.
  • Prior banquet experience is an asset.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
  • Must be neat, clean and well groomed at all times.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
  • Ability to transport up to 125 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting
  • Walking – Over 4 hrs./day
  • Standing – Over 4 hrs./day
  • Bending/Reaching – Over 4 hrs./day
  • Pushing/Pulling – Over 4 hrs./day
