About Our Team

  • The Global Peer Review team sits within Journals Editorial, and is responsible for ensuring that all of our journals follow robust peer review processes.
  • We aim to achieve this by providing a high level of support to our journals and editors throughout peer review.
  • We are a strategic and global team, and work closely with a number of departments across the business, as well as key external partners.

Could you be our new Editorial Assistant – Peer Review Management? Are you?

  • Do you possess a strong interest in academic publishing and a keen appreciation of challenges and opportunities faced by the industry?
  • Can you demonstrate your ability to quickly digest a large amount of new and complex information?
  • Do you have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills?
  • Are you a confident and effective communicator, with the ability to manage external and internal relationships?
  • Do you work well under pressure and show initiative?
  • Do you have prior experience with ScholarOne or similar peer platforms? (this is desirable, but it’s not a requirement as training will be provided on the job)

Your New Role

  • Manage the progress of journal article submissions using online peer review systems.
  • Promptly respond to queries from authors and other stakeholders to ensure we provide a high quality service.
  • Monitor and report on turnaround times, peer review standards and author/editor survey results as required.
  • Oversee progress of special issues, liaise with Guest Editors and ensure publication targets are met.
  • Provide training and support for Editors, Associate Editors and reviewers.
  • Assess cases of plagiarism and duplication using online detection software.
  • Support department-wide initiatives and projects, as required.
