Role & Responsibilities

  • Detailed Engineering Activities and Site Support:
  • Coordinate feasibility study of engineering deliverables like plot plan layout drawings, GA drawings, equipment layout etc.
  • Facilitate the alignment of the Engineering contractors to RIL’s Engineering Setup and requirements of the project
  • Suggest project engineering procedures used by Engineering Contractor and ensure its alignment to RILs requirements and standard norms
  • Review and approve key engineering milestones/deliverables generated doing the project
  • Coordinate the implementation of the RIL PMS in the project by the Engineering Contractor
  • Coordinate piping comments in 3D model review, review waivers/deviations raised by different groups
  • Release material and purchase requisition by Engineering Contractor
  • Project Management:
  • Participate in proposal efforts and budget preparation for proposal work and in preparation of project implementation procedures
  • Establishing the weightage factors of different Engineering milestones involved in the project for development of the baseline schedule for the project
  • Providing Engineering inputs for the formulation of the DOR of the project depending on the scope of execution (FEED, Detailed Engineering, etc.)
  • Coordinate complex technical issues within engineering and with other departments
  • Audit & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance of all departments with respect to regulatory and legal related norms like QMS, HSE practices and project execution plan
  • Conduct Engineering Audits during different stages of the project at the Contractor’s home office to ensure compliance to RIL’s Design Basis, Specifications and procedures.
  • Facilitate regulatory audits at the project site/plant, by ensuring that all relevant data and information is provided to the auditors during plant visit within timelines; review any cases on

non-compliance and take corrective steps to ensure adherence

  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Review the technical competencies and capacities of the vendors, development of new vendors and maintain healthy competition to improve cost and delivery benefits
  • Manage complex technical discussions with third parties (customers, suppliers, contractors, licensors and regulators) to facilitate appropriate technical decisions

Education

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)

Experience

  • 15 -20 years of DEC experience in Refinery/Petrochemical/O&G etc.
  • Prior experience in project management including site experience in relevant field like brown field projects etc.
