Job Overview

We are in search of a dedicated and dynamic Lead Teacher to oversee the educational journey and academic advancement of students in a residential program. This remote position entails delivering high-quality instruction, establishing educational objectives, implementing a robust curriculum, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere for children. Collaboration with program directors and educational staff will be essential in crafting a significant experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of educators to ensure the delivery of tailored educational services that address students’ diverse needs.
  • Provide instructional leadership, offering constructive feedback and guidance to fellow education professionals.
  • Cultivate a secure, inclusive, and respectful environment conducive to learning for children from varied backgrounds.
  • Facilitate direct educational services, promoting active engagement and success in academic pursuits.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to gauge each child’s academic level and discern specific learning needs.
  • Innovate and adapt curricula across essential academic disciplines as well as vocational training and cultural integration activities.
  • Develop personalized education plans to cater to the distinct requirements of each child.
  • Monitor student participation to guarantee comprehensive instruction and support.
  • Organize and manage educational field trips and extracurricular programming.
  • Schedule and lead monthly educational team meetings to disseminate updates on policies and best practices.
  • Maintain precise educational case files and database records in alignment with established policies.
  • Provide homebound, remedial education, and after-school tutoring as necessary.
  • Step in as a substitute teacher when required, adhering to lesson plans and managing classroom dynamics.
  • Assist in safeguarding the welfare and supervision of students.
  • Attend essential staff meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience or relevant educational experience.
  • Certification in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
  • Valid State Teaching Certification in the state of employment.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Minimum age of 21 at the time of hire.
