Job Description
As a Junior Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Xero Accounting Software and working experience of Primary Care / NHS. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development for someone who is willing to learn and adapt to the evolving needs of our business.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, reconciling bank, and maintaining general ledgers. Maintain debtors / creditors/ journals.
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the wider team to gather financial data and provide support in preparing & setting financial reports and budgets.
- Utilise Excel extensively to organise and analyse financial data, create reports, and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Working with data such as PCSE, DES / LES,
- Work closely in assisting with financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring of expenses.
- Preparing and submitting payroll & pensions for your entity. NHS pensions knowledge / experience is a bonus. Monthly reconciliation & submissions required.
- Show initiative to propose improvements to finance activities, processes, and procedures.
Personal Specification
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, and data
- Experience using Xero.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Meeting deadline requirements, independently and as a team.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and present financial information clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or a similar role.
