Purpose for the Position:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual and IT systems. This role combines technical expertise in AV equipment with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure to support seamless communication, presentations, and events.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Audio-Visual (AV) Support:
- Set up, configure, and operate AV equipment for meetings, events, and conferences, including projectors, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and digital displays.
- Troubleshoot AV issues, ensuring minimal disruption during live events.
- Maintain and upgrade AV systems to meet evolving organizational needs.
- Information Technology (IT) Support:
- Provide basic IT support for hardware, software, and network issues. Work with an IT Helpdesk ticketing application to provide AV and computer hardware and software support.
- Assist in the configuration and support for Microsoft 365 applications.
- Setup email accounts within Microsoft Outlook.
- Initial setup and ongoing maintenance of desktop and laptop computers.
- Work with third party vendors to secure maintenance and warranty work as needed.
- System Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on AV and IT systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
- Collaborate with vendors for the repair and upgrade of AV and IT equipment.
- Documentation and Training:
- Maintain accurate documentation of AV/IT setups, configurations, and troubleshooting processes.
- Provide training and support to staff on using AV and IT systems.
- Maintain an inventory of all AV and IT hardware and software.
- Collaboration and Customer Service:
- Work closely with other departments to understand and meet their AV/IT needs.
- Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Use good communication skills with employees and guests.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Audio-Visual Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience) highly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in AV/IT support, preferably in a corporate and events environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
- Knowledge of networking principles, including IP configuration and wireless networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under time-sensitive conditions.
- Ability to work a cloud-based IT Helpdesk ticketing system.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications including Office and MS Teams.
- Familiarity with AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron)
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional lifting of heavy AV equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
- Flexible work schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed for events.
- Ability to travel between company locations or off-site events as required.
Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory):
- AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist)
- Crestron or Extron certifications
