The Assistant Director Talent & Culture reports to the Director of Talent & Culture and is responsible for assisting the Director of Talent and Culture in developing and executing the hotel’s talent and culture strategy. This includes supporting the full employee life cycle, from recruitment and onboarding to training and development, performance management, and employee engagement. The Assistant Director of Talent and Culture also plays a role in creating a positive and productive work environment. The Assistant Director of Talent & Culture also plays a role in creating a positive and productive work environment and as well as ensuring the operational effectiveness of the HR Department. In this role, the Assistant Director of Talent and Culture is expected to be a strategic advisor to the management team in the Hotel. This will require the incumbent to be fully conversant in all laws that pertain to leading a human resources function such as the Employment Act, the Human Rights Act, the Immigration Act, etc.
What You Will Be Doing
- Foster a strong working relationship with the Union based on respect and fairness
- Take the lead on ensuring that operationally the HR department is well run and adhering to local and global standards
- Assist with the development and implementation of the hotel’s talent and culture strategy
- Support the full employee life cycle, including recruitment and onboarding, training and development, performance management, and employee engagement
- Assist with the creation and management of employee development programs and initiatives
- Assist with the implementation of employee engagement programs and initiatives
- Help to build and maintain a positive and productive work environment
- Assist with the management of the hotel’s talent budget
- Work with other hotel departments to ensure that the talent and culture strategy is aligned with the hotel’s overall goals and objectives
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- 5+ years of experience in talent and culture management, preferably in the luxury hospitality industry
- Strong understanding of human resources principles and practices, including recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management, and employee engagement
- Experience with developing and implementing talent and culture strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think strategically and manage budgets
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
