Keches Law Group, P.C. is a well-established law firm with offices in Milton, Bridgewater, and Worcester, practicing in the areas of workers’ compensation, personal injury, and medical malpractice.

We are seeking highly motivated a full time Paralegal for our Bridgewater office. Must be customer service oriented, highly motivated, and have strong organizational skills for a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates will be able to commute to the Bridgewater office daily.

Summary of Position

The paralegal supports lawyers by conducting legal research, drafting documents, managing case files, and facilitating communication with clients and court personnel. They play a vital role in the legal process, contributing to case preparation and aiding during court proceedings. Strong organizational, research, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage telephone communications for the assigned attorney by answering or directing inquiries
  • Produce information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics
  • Coordinate case preparation
  • Request reports and medical records from doctors’ offices, hospitals, urgent cares, etc.
  • Review and summarize medical records for proceedings
  • Prepare documents and correspondence to be sent to clients, insurance carriers, courts, and doctor’s offices
  • Perform research with limited direction
  • Represent attorney(s) by communicating and obtaining information, following up on delegated assignments, and knowing when to act and when to refer matters to the attorney(s)
  • Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential
  • Enhance the reputation of the department and the organization by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to the position
  • Maintain client files

Qualifications

  • Strong phone, typing, and computer skills are a must
  • Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with clients, attorneys, and others
  • Must be energetic, well organized, and have the ability to multi-task
  • Must possess and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to handle situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to work in a high intensity, high stress environment handling a multitude of duties
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while accomplishing short-term goals without losing sight and commitment to the longer-term needs of the attorney(s)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or a related field is preferred
  • Paralegal certificate is preferred, but not required
  • 1-2 years of personal injury or workers’ compensation experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with legal databases and software such as Litify is a plus
  • Experience working in the hospitality or service industry is strongly preferred
  • Multi-lingual abilities
