The ideal candidate will be adept at critical thinking, quick decision-making, and delivering compassionate care to patients with diverse and urgent medical needs.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care and AssessmentPerform rapid and thorough assessments of patients presenting to the emergency room.Prioritize care based on acuity and manage multiple patients simultaneously.Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered by physicians.Emergency Response and ManagementRespond promptly to life-threatening situations, including trauma, cardiac arrest, and respiratory distress.Operate and monitor medical equipment, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and IV pumps.Collaborate with healthcare team members to stabilize critically ill or injured patients.Documentation and CommunicationMaintain accurate and detailed patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care plans and outcomes.Relay critical information to other departments during patient transfers or admissions.Compliance and SafetyAdhere to hospital policies, state regulations, and best practices in emergency nursing.Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.Professional Development and TeamworkStay current with advances in emergency medicine and attend required training sessions.Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.Support and mentor other staff members as needed.QualificationsActive and unrestricted RN license in [State].Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and ability to perform under pressure.Work EnvironmentThis position requires working in a dynamic ER environment where priorities change rapidly based on patient needs.
