We’re looking for an Editor to maintain a world-class level of editorial excellence for a range of ResMed communications. And as you already know, there was a typo in “communications.”
This role will report to the Associate Creative Director, Copy.
Open to remote, hybrid, or onsite arrangements.

Let’s Talk About The Role
- Review and edit a variety of content?for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, readability and visual-written content alignment.
- Ensure consistent adherence to ResMed editorial guidelines and formatting across materials. We follow AP Stylebook and Merriam-Webster. Hopefully that’s not a deal-breaker. (You might be interested in the fact that Merriam-Webster prefers the hyphenated “deal-breaker,” but also allows “dealbreaker.”)
- Maintain awareness of, and proofread against, regulatory requirements/checklists as needed.
- Ensure consistent language across multiple channels that carry the message to the target audience.
- Support overall quality control of all team output by ensuring all corrections and changes noted by stakeholders and other team members have been made and are accurate during full project lifecycle.
- Learn the nuances and needs of our varied audiences.??
- Build knowledge about sleep apnea, sleep apnea therapy, and ResMed sleep apnea products and solutions.
- Be a steward of the ResMed brand and ensure our voice and tone are always clearly and positively communicated. Understand clinical research findings to effectively assess, edit and proof content.?
- Edit draft content and suggest rewrites and revisions as necessary to improve clarity and readability.?
- Partner with writers, designers and stakeholders to refine content, improve quality and deliver work that meets standards and stated objectives.?
- Lean into good communication and interpersonal skills to take and receive feedback with tact and encouragement.?
- Be a stakeholder in ResMed’s editorial guidelines system, including making regular updates and socializing updates with appropriate teams.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in proofing, editing and healthcare.

- Familiarity and experience working with annotations and references in health-related communications.
- 3+ years of proofreading and copyediting experience, including experience with style guides.?
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Clear, proactive and collaborative communication style.?

- Willingness to ask questions and challenge the status quo, while retaining appropriate professional humility and openness.?
- A self-starter with the curiosity and ability to quickly learn complex industry issues, emerging digital health technologies and the nuances of different audiences.???
- Strong time management skills with ability to juggle multiple projects and competing deadlines.?
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field (or a high school diploma and 5 years of related work)
- Experience in healthcare, technology or other similar highly regulated businesses
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills. This role is eligible to receive an annual cash bonus payment based on company, business unit, and/or individual performance.
Base Pay Range for this position:
$68,000- $84,000
For remote positions located outside of the US, pay will be determined based the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
