Verdantas is seeking an Environmental Field Technician. This position will be located in Tampa, Florida and will include regular overnight travel to northern / central parts of Florida.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform NPDES (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System) inspections for SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) compliance.
• Perform installation/removal of erosion and sediment control systems such as silt fence and floating turbidity curtains.
• Oversee installation/removal of erosion and sediment control systems such as silt fence and floating turbidity curtains.
• Review activities and provide oversight on a variety of construction projects within the field of environmental permit compliance.
• Coordinate with contractors and other field staff to complete installation/removal of sediment controls and other environmental constraints.
• Review, understand, and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Additional tasks may include wildlife and wetland surveys.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles, trailers, off road utility vehicles, and walk behind trencher.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Capable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environment
• Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
