Synopsis

Lead and Shape the Future of Infrastructure as a Maintenance Coordinator

Permanent Full-Time Position | $95,054 per annum + super

The Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking a skilled Maintenance Coordinator to lead the maintenance and renewal of vital infrastructure across the municipality. This role is key to ensuring our road and drainage networks are well-maintained, contributing to the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our region.

As the Maintenance Coordinator, you will oversee the maintenance of sealed and unsealed roads, street cleaning, and the urban drainage network while leading a diverse and dedicated team. You will also provide critical technical advice on engineering matters and ensure that projects are executed to the highest standards. From managing budgets to fostering team development, your leadership will have a lasting impact on the efficiency and quality of local infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, ensuring safety and performance.
  • Infrastructure Management: Provide technical advice on maintenance and renewal of roads, bridges, drainage, and footpaths.
  • Program Planning: Plan, implement, and monitor maintenance programs and capital works projects.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets and track project costs, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Customer Engagement: Address complaints and maintain positive communication with stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Review systems, processes, and safety protocols to enhance service delivery.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Manager – Field Services and other departments on strategic projects and planning.

What We’re Looking For

  • Engineering qualifications or extensive experience in road maintenance and project management.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Strong technical expertise in infrastructure maintenance (roads, bridges, drainage).
  • Experience with budget management and financial reporting.
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

A driver’s license and knowledge of industry standards are essential.
