Position Overview
The Director of Programming is a dynamic leader responsible for overseeing the planning, design, delivery, and ongoing improvement of all KidStrong programming for 60,000+ members. This includes leading a talented team to design, implement, and measure the impact of KidStrong’s educational and developmental strategies, ensuring they align with our mission to deliver innovative, science-based, and fun programming for kids. This role will require a strategic, data-driven approach to shaping KidStrong’s programming and learning experiences. The Director will work collaboratively across departments and with franchise partners to ensure that our educational products, training programs, and delivery methods meet the needs of our community and drive member success. A successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for child development, a proactive leader with strong communication skills, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead and inspire the Programming and Training teams, ensuring alignment with KidStrong’s goals. Develop and execute strategic plans that drive the creation, delivery, and continual improvement of innovative programming that enhances the KidStrong experience for both kids and franchise partners.
- Program Development & Evaluation: Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality programming. Regularly assess and refine programs based on feedback, data, and evolving industry trends, ensuring continuous improvement and relevance.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnerships: Work closely with the Head of Product, executive management, franchisees, and cross-functional teams to align programming and training efforts with broader business objectives.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and educational best practices. Regularly incorporate innovative thinking, new technologies, and evidence-based approaches into KidStrong’s programming.
- Franchise Partner Relationships: Build strong relationships with franchise partners to understand their unique needs and challenges. Collaborate with them to identify solutions, share best practices, and ensure they have the tools and resources they need for success.
- Curriculum & Learning Infrastructure: Oversee the design and delivery of all training materials and role-based curricula. Create and maintain a standardized process for content delivery, evaluation, and reporting to ensure consistency and measurable impact across all franchise locations.
- Team Development: Lead and coach a team of passionate professionals in the design, development, and implementation of programming solutions. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that encourages growth and creativity.
- Technology Integration: Leverage digital platforms and technology to enhance the delivery, tracking, and effectiveness of programming. Ensure that KidStrong remains at the forefront of using technology to improve both the learning experience and operational efficiency.
- Change Management: Champion the identification, management, and implementation of changes within programming and training. Lead efforts to ensure KidStrong’s offerings continue to evolve in response to member feedback, industry trends, and business needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively monitor program performance, using feedback and data to suggest improvements. Ensure that all programming remains aligned with the dynamic needs of the business and provides a best-in-class experience for both team members and franchisees.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Child Development, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role creating and overseeing educational programming, product development, or training initiatives.
- Proven Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences, including internal teams, franchisees, and executive leadership.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and execute long-term plans while balancing immediate needs and priorities. Experience analyzing complex situations and devising actionable strategies.
- Passion for Child Development: Deep commitment to creating educational experiences that positively impact children’s physical, mental, and emotional development.
- Innovative Mindset: Proven ability to identify and integrate new ideas, best practices, and technologies to enhance programming and training.
