Job Description

We’re looking for a motivated and driven Senior Manager, Government Affairs and Strategic Partnerships to join our vibrant team! In this exciting role, you’ll play a crucial part in shaping our growth strategy and driving the company to new heights. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and play a key role in navigating government regulations, building stakeholder relationships, and securing strategic station and stop locations. As the Senior Manager, Government Affairs and Strategic Partnerships you will be responsible for managing government relations, regulatory compliance, and securing new bus stops and station agreements to support the company’s growth. This role involves working with municipal, provincial, and federal stakeholders, private property owners, and community partners to establish and maintain access to critical infrastructure and ensure alignment with transportation policies.

Your Tasks – Paint the world green

Government Affairs:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, municipal councils, and regulatory bodies across Canada.
  • Represent the company in discussions with federal, provincial, and municipal transportation authorities and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and influence transportation policies, regulations, and legislation that impact the company’s operations at all levels of government.
  • Prepare submissions, reports, and presentations for regulatory hearings and public consultations.

Station and Stop Development:

  • Identify and secure strategic locations for new bus stops and stations, ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and safety standards in diverse jurisdictions.
  • Negotiate access agreements with private property owners, municipalities, and transit hubs across the country.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and optimize station layouts for passenger convenience and operational efficiency.
  • Address community concerns and resolve operational challenges related to bus stops and stations.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build partnerships with local businesses, transit agencies, and community organizations to enhance station access and amenities nationwide.
  • Serve as the company’s point of contact for station-related inquiries and government relations matters.
  • Advocate for the company’s interests in transportation planning and infrastructure development forums.

Your Profile – Ready to hop on board

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Economics, Political Science, Legal, Business, History, or related field
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in government relations, government, advocacy firm, public policy, politics, the transportation industry, or similar position
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years of project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of Canada’s transportation regulations and public transit systems
  • Proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with experience presenting to senior officials
  • Ability to analyze policies and regulations to identify risks and opportunities for the company
  • Familiarity with real estate, land-use planning, and facility development is preferred but not required
  • Willing to travel in as required, potentially including travel to the United States
  • Fluent in English, fluency in French is preferred but not required
