Job Description: Operations Supervisor – Dark Store

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Supervisor to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of a dark store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising inbound logistics, order picking, packaging, and dispatch operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflows, meeting customer service expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate all dark store activities, including inbound shipments, inventory management, picking, packaging, and dispatch.
  • Ensure all orders are processed accurately and dispatched on time to meet customer service level agreements (SLAs).

Inbound And Inventory Control

  • Oversee the receipt and storage of inbound stock, ensuring accurate inventory updates and proper organization.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize discrepancies.

Order Fulfillment

  • Supervise the picking and packaging processes, ensuring orders are prepared according to quality and accuracy standards.
  • Monitor workflow efficiency and address bottlenecks promptly to maintain operational speed and quality.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and guide dark store staff, including pickers, packers, and warehouse assistants.
  • Conduct daily briefings to align the team on operational priorities, safety protocols, and performance goals.
  • Provide training and coaching to ensure high team productivity and adherence to SOPs.

Operational Efficiency And Problem-Solving

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and implement best practices.
  • Resolve operational issues, such as stock discrepancies or order errors, in a timely and efficient manner.

Safety And Compliance

  • Ensure the dark store complies with all safety and hygiene standards.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and enforce the use of proper equipment and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Reporting And Communication

  • Prepare and share daily reports on operational KPIs, including order accuracy, inventory levels, and dispatch performance.
  • Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve escalations.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, retail, or e-commerce operations.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, order fulfillment, and dispatch processes.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic reporting tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
