Position Overview

The Aerial Foreman I is responsible for supervising and assisting with the execution of standard aerial telecommunications projects while ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to timelines. As an entry-level foreman position, this role requires foundational leadership skills and a solid understanding of aerial construction processes. The Aerial Foreman I works under the guidance of the Aerial Foreman II and project management staff to complete projects successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assist with the daily operations of aerial installation crews on smaller or less complex projects.
  • Organize crew assignments, monitor productivity, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform on-site inspections to ensure the quality and accuracy of aerial installations, including fiber optic and coax cable placement.
  • Conduct safety meetings and enforce compliance with OSHA and industry safety standards.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving minor issues during construction or repair processes.
  • Collaborate with the Aerial Foreman II or project manager to report progress, identify challenges, and coordinate material needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of crew activities, time, and material usage.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to crew members to enhance their technical skills and safety awareness.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in aerial telecommunications or construction.
  • Basic understanding of aerial construction techniques, including fiber optic and coax cable installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple construction blueprints and technical documents.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to motivate and manage a crew effectively.
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record (Class A CDL and bucket truck certification are a plus).
  • Familiarity with aerial safety standards and regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to use basic office hardware and software for documentation and reporting purposes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working at heights and using safety harnesses and equipment.
  • Physical stamina to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and equipment.
