ENERCON’s Data Center Mission Critical Group is seeking a 3D Staff Designer to join the team based in one of our various office locations across the U.S.

As a 3D Staff Designer, your day is a dynamic blend of creative problem-solving and technical precision, where you bring designs to life using AutoCAD, REVIT, INVENTOR and cutting-edge BIM tools. Collaborating with engineers and mentoring junior team members, you ensure every project runs smoothly, from detailed drafting to site walkdowns, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

 

  • Create and/or modify detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD, REVIT, and INVENTOR
  • Prepare design drawings, including layout and detail drawings, piping isometrics, single line drawings, P&ID, pipe and conduit support drawings
  • Detail physical design of piping and conduit supports based on schematics and typical details; any steel detailing experience is desired
  • Perform walkdowns at client sites and generate walkdown reports
  • Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives
  • Conduct self-checks of created drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final product
  • May review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership
  • Meet applied time goals set for position/discipline
  • Work directly with Engineering and other designers for design concept interpretation
  • Experienced with 3D space and building information management (BIM)
  • Can perform internal reviews and clash detection of designs using NAVISWORK, REVIT, and INVENTOR
  • Can create and modify REVIT/INVENTOR families and incorporate them into design
  • Understands AutoCAD national standards
  • Displays high attention to details; can perform peer checks for other designers
  • Has ability to communicate internally with engineers and designers and is very organized #SF-L1

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field with a minimum of 2 years of design engineering experience
    • OR Associates Degree in related field with minimum 6 years of design engineering experience
    • OR minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Proficient with both 2D and 3D design software, AutoCAD, REVIT, and INVENTOR is required; NAVISWORKS, Creo, and Bluebeam recommended
  • Working knowledge of basic engineering techniques, principals, standards, and concepts for assigned engineering discipline; competent in the basic concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design
  • Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs

The salary range for this full-time position is below. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
