At Intrepid Travel, we believe in creating life-changing travel experiences. We’re looking for a Deputy Operations Manager to help us deliver exceptional trips in Italy that exceed our customers’ expectations.

In this role, you’ll support the Operations Manager and management team to ensure the smooth execution of our Italy trips, maintaining the high standards that define Intrepid’s travel experience. You will work closely with Group Leaders and local operators, overseeing every step of trip planning and execution, from refining itineraries to managing key operational assets.

As the go-to person for leaders and local partners, you’ll ensure operational excellence, swiftly addressing any challenges that arise. You’ll also play a key role in recruitment and training, supporting passenger feedback initiatives, and collaborating with partners to uphold our travel standards. Your contribution will be vital in creating unforgettable memories for our travellers.

This is a full-time, permanent position, based in a hybrid capacity out of our Rome office, with some flexibility in work hours due to the nature of the role.

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

  • Proven experience in the travel industry, preferably as a Group Leader for Intrepid or a similar organization in the region.
  • Strong knowledge of Italy and other West Europe destinations and Intrepid’s travel style.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proven ability to make independent decisions in dynamic situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and support people, including performance development and feedback.
  • Strong office administration skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, with the ability to guide and train others effectively.
  • Ability to manage crises and take responsibility for the safety of others in challenging situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear coordination across teams.
  • Proficiency in Italian and English, with additional languages being highly advantageous.
