About The Role

Assists Production Operators in inspecting and packaging finished products per quality specifications by performing the following duties.

What You’ll Do

  • Retrieves and prepares boxes and labels for packaging.
  • Lifts, positions, and removes finished products from machine conveyors.
  • Sorts and visually inspects products for quality defects.
  • Orientates products together before placing into shipping containers.
  • Stacks, ties, or otherwise fastens finished products together.
  • Packages finished products in accordance with Job Sheet/Standard Manufacturing Procedure (SMP).
  • Enters production information into Plexus.
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Reviews reworked products for quality specifications.
  • Performs secondary operations as required.
  • Cleans and scrapes products to remove burrs, slivers, sharp edges, etc.
  • Uses Plexus to print individual and master labels for boxes of finished material.
  • Cleans tools, equipment, and work area.
  • Notifies supervisor of safety or quality concerns.
  • Performs other production duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Knowledge of basic computer and keyboard use. Ability to use weighing scales.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work any continuous or fixed shift schedule including any day of the calendar week as required for operation of the position and mandatory overtime as implemented by management.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
