About The Position

Job Title: NICU Nurse PractitionerJob Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) NursingJob Duration: 13 weeksShift: Day – 4×12 – 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, 48 hours per weekGuaranteed Hours: Not specifiedExperience: At least 2 years of RN experience in a Level 3 or 4 NICU, plus 2 years practicing as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP). First-time travelers are dependent on experience; candidates with more than 2 years of NNP experience may be considered.License: Must be able to obtain emergency temporary credentials.Certifications: MSN-NNP certification through National Certification Corporation (NCC), BLS, NRPMust-Have:- Intubation experience- Umbilical line placement skills- Chest tube placement capability- Neonatal thoracentesis experienceJob Description:- Perform physical examinations and record pertinent data accurately.- Conduct hospital rounds and maintain progress notes.- Oversee hospital admission and discharge as directed by the supervising physician.- Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine management and treatment plans.- Work independently overnight with the ability to call back the provider if needed.- Rounding and support occur during the day, while the provider assists for 8 hours.- NNP will handle neonates from 23 weeks to full term with various conditions.- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care.- Participate in weekend rotation every other weekend.- Cover 1-2 holidays per contract.- Attend orientation and two shifts with a preceptor before starting independently.- Expected to float between two campuses as needed.Please make sure to fulfill certification and experience requirements.
