PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and executes a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure that the hotel’s physical plant and facilities are in excellent and efficient condition.
- Plans, directs and coordinates the operation of the department through proper delegation of responsibilities and workload to Engineering employees. Ensures the function is responsive to the operational needs of all departments.
- Presides over engineering operational meetings as often as necessary to discuss and resolve day to day operational requirements and problems.
- Presides over Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Meeting which is to be attended by GM, Rooms Division, F&B, Purchasing and others on request.
- Undertakes Engineering feasibility study, plans and estimates for new projects; prepares request for capital budget approval and initiates implementation of the same once approved.
- Conducts regular inspections of the entire hotel property and takes immediate corrective actions if deficiencies are found. Develops and prepares the yearly expense and capital expenditure budgets covering light and power, repairs and maintenance and capital equipment improvement for senior management approval.
- Procures and keeps safely all Engineering equipment, catalogs, manuals, plans, etc. to have update reference materials for the department.
- Reviews Engineering stock items in coordination with the storekeeper to eliminate slow-moving or dead stock items and incorporation of new items in the stock list.
- Performs other related duties and special projects as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
- Appraises performance of engineering employees periodically according to Human Resources policy and initiates appropriate measures to improve deficiencies.
- Exercises administrative supervision of all Engineering employees including personnel requisition, disciplinary, promotion and training, leave approval and overtime requests.
- Checks and ensures that the jobs assigned to subordinates have been effectively completed on the timely basis and according to hotel’s expectation.
- Recommends corrective actions for unfavorable variances in job standards and budget commitment.
- Proposes and executes an effective duty to ensure sufficiency of manpower in accordance to volume of business.
- Identifies and solves problems in a professional manner.
- Knows and understands policies of the department well and can guide others to perform the job well.
- Checks, reviews and proposes service standards established by the company.
- Supervises and leads team of safety and emergency management such as ERT, fire drill team and others according to Safety and Emergency Procedures.
- Leads as required the hotel’s environmental team to conserve energy and water, protects environment and other environmental activities.
- Manages wastes by reducing and recycling appropriate waste and managing use of resources.
- Approves and is responsible for the requisition point and par stock of products used in the department, spare parts and engineering supplies.
- To be evaluated and evaluate the Engineering team according to the HR performance evaluation program.
- Attends training as required by the company to develop him/herself and grow effectively.
RELATIONSHIP
- Reports to General Manager/Managing Director and EAM in case of GM/Director’s absence.
- Coordinates with all concerned Corporate personnel
- Works closely with other department heads to ensure that all activities are accomplished.

JOB REQUIREMENT
- Minimum education of Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering
- Current position as Chief Engineer or previous experience at least 4-5 years in Engineering management level in hotel or residential project is a must
- Strong knowledge in the principles and practices of engineering operation.
- Have Excellent English communication skills both in written and spoken
- Computer literate
- Possesses professional disposition with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
