Direct Care Specialist: Full Time: Monday-Friday 2p-10p

Job Description

The Company

Alsana is a leading eating disorder recovery community with 8 locations nationwide, plus a virtual program. We are committed to providing superior care to help individuals on their journey to a healthy and successful recovery. Rooted in the Latin term meaning “total health,” Alsana offers a new philosophy of care centered on our clients’ overall well-being. Unlike traditional recovery programs, we address all aspects of eating disorders, often including those that go untreated elsewhere. Our culture fosters a work environment of communication, collaboration, compassion, and integrity—key elements in creating individualized treatment plans to support our clients’ success.

The Role

As a Direct Care Specialist at Alsana, you will be an essential member of an interdisciplinary mental health team, supporting therapists, dietitians, and nurses to achieve their specific treatment goals.

  • Provide one-on-one support to clients in crisis as directed by nursing, therapists, or per the client’s care plan.
  • Assist clients with nutritional and dietary needs in line with guidance from the facility’s nutritionist and the interdisciplinary plan.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and their families, addressing concerns in a courteous and efficient manner, and seek assistance from licensed staff when needed.
  • Drive clients in company vehicles to outings, doctor appointments, pharmacy visits, and other essential appointments.
  • Maintain and communicate the level system with clients, advising licensed staff on issues related to compliance.
  • Lead or co-lead group sessions for Residential, Partial Hospital, and Intensive Outpatient clients, participating in evening and weekend group rotations.
