Job Description

As an Assistant Controller with Trew you will be an integral part of leading company financial and accounting activities. This role will partner cross functionally with sales, engineering and operations to drive department and company goals. This individual is instrumental in maintaining accountability of the financial resources of the company.

You’ll be…

  • Managing all aspects of the general ledger
  • Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
  • Supervising accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting departments
  • Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Preparing and consolidating financial statements
  • Establishing and maintaining internal controls
  • Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses
  • Assisting with the budget process
  • Analyzing and reporting cost variances
  • Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit
  • Serving as a liaison to external auditors
  • Preparing state / sales tax returns

What you’ll need…

  • To be successful as an Assistant Controller with Trew, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). An outstanding Assistant Controller should have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Active CPA license
  • 7-10 years of accounting experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • NetSuite experience is a plus

Work Environment

This is primarily a desk-based role, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. While the role is mainly desk-based, mobility within the office, manufacturing facility and customer sites may be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Ability to traverse office, manufacturing facility and customer sites.
