Job Summary
The Logistics Center Director will oversee and manage the operations of the logistics facility and distribution center.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Hires and supervises necessary logistics personnel responsible for all daily functions.
- Dispatchers
- Approx. 50 Drivers
- Oversee the driver-related workflows to support the following 24/7 internal & routine logistics operations and corresponding team members.
- Silage/Feed related Products
- Dairy Manure Hauling
- Substrate Hauling
- Land Application
- Collaborates with Facility Maintenance department to provide timely & complete information on truck and trailer repair needs
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Full Time on-site role
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Gathers needed information on and understanding of company demands; meets specific needs for business functions on a timely and accurate basis
- Identifies problems and inefficiencies in logistics processes; presents and implements enhancements and solutions to address these issues.
- Maintains current knowledge of logistics and technology developments and trends; recommends and implements improvements based on this knowledge to provide more efficient service.
- Oversees compliance with traffic & safety regulations and provide proactive solutions to ensure safety for drivers
- Maintain fleet’s & regulatory functions to ensure proper road readiness
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and a variety of duties.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with computer-based management systems for logistic management tools that drive high degree of organization & efficiency
- Bi-lingual not required but beneficial (English & Spanish)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Five years of experience in logistics management or transportation industry required.
