What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Manage all aspects of initial credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging for clinicians within the healthcare system
• Interact with clinicians to gather applications and necessary documentation, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
• Monitor and follow up on application processes to ensure timely and efficient handling of requests
• Assist the Director in the organization and operation of the Medical Staff Office to meet hospital goals and regulatory requirements
• Attend medical staff committee meetings and provide support to medical staff officers and departments as required

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Minimum of three (3) years of credentialing and medical terminology experience in a hospital or managed care credentialing setting
• Proficiency in using personal computers and applications, including Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel) and credentialing software
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of local, federal, and state laws and regulations, as well as JCAHO standards
• Ability to prioritize work assignments effectively and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Five (5) years of previous experience in credentialing within a healthcare environment
• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification
• Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification
• Experience with JCAHO, URAC, and NCQA guidelines
• Degree in Business, Healthcare, or a closely related field
