About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Performance, Asia South, you are responsible to define the weekly Standard Offer Prices (SOP) for Asia South region based on comprehensive market sentiments and supply & demand situation, with the objective of maximizing Borouge profitability. Communication and explanation of the SOP to the sales teams for different markets and grades across Asia South. This includes seeking feedback on the prices to be able to adjust according to market developments and explaining and motivating why a certain SOP has been set. Analyse and react to pricing performance above or below market, ensuring that SOP is reflecting the markets. Engage with Asia South Performance Cell teams (sales, marketing, supply chain) in order to define pricing strategy for the Asia South Region. Liaise with the central Business Optimization Function and other Borouge regions ensure roll out of best practices in Asia South region. The role holder will be actively involved in strategic projects carried out within Asia South region, conducting analysis of market trends and actual business performance as well as forecasting future performance and development of the business and markets.
This role is based in Singapore.
Key Accountabilities:
Pricing Management
- Develop overall pricing strategy for Asia South region with focus on maximizing/optimizing profitability
- Drive price excellence by creating right infrastructure, active involvement of key stakeholders to create right decision making, and achieve optimum pricing
- Drive price performance by focusing on collection of accurate and current pricing data to be used as information in Pricing tools and Analytics for performance improvement
- Co-ordination with all stakeholders for pricing decisions and prepare final price proposals by assessing overall market situation and internal demand/supply dynamics for approvals as per policy and procedure
- Review and approve/recommend for approval price exceptions (e.g. slow movers, testing).
- Lead discussions in monthly or quarterly performance review meetings
- Co-ordinate all price related communications, including discussion with external agencies (e.g. Platts / ICIS) to capture best view of the Asia South markets.
- Monitor pricing procedure compliance, applying corrective actions when necessary.
- Identify and actively lead process improvement opportunities as per Borouge methodology.
- Engage with the commercial team on formula price contracts, long term fixed prices and support in developing pricing strategies for key customers.
- Analyze short term and long term trends pricing and market trends, to support decision making of Asia South Leadership Team
Pricing Organisation
- Develop, coach and support strong and effective pricing in Asia South region to drive real and sustained price performance
- Ensure environment where data is used for robust decision making process
- Execute price improvement initiatives through right investment and people.
Performance Management
- Drive sustainable and continuous improvement in pricing performance, tracking the results of the initiatives.
- Analyze and coach pricing analysts to drill down on the correct level of detail for pricing evaluation and prepare corrective actions.
- Develop and monitor uniform KPI dashboard for regular review in weekly and monthly review meetings and recommend corrective actions in quarterly review
- Oversee all improvement areas identified through data analysis
Cross Functional Team Leadership
- Supports discussions with senior leadership team on finalizing long term price strategy and resource requirements
- Lead discussions in weekly and monthly Price meetings with Head of Strategy and Performance, RSMs, and PC VPs for target price setting
- Work with Global & Regional Marketing to align premium expectations and approvals for any adjustments
- Participate in discussions with Demand & Supply planning, Business Optimization to understand overall supply situation and how pricing can be optimized
- Ensure adherence to Price Control Procedure (and any other relevant procedures)
- Lead and support Strategic Project initiatives (e.g. go-to-market strategies, application strategies, corporate projects, AIDT initiatives)
About You:
- Minimum 15 years relevant working experience in petrochemical or similar or related industry
- Working experience in relevant commercial function for at least 10 years.
- Excellent Analytical Skills

- Good understanding of PO market and products in all Borouge markets.
