The General Manager oversees and directs the field services activities of their region. They are responsible for maintaining an acceptable contribution margin while providing service of the highest quality. The General Manager is expected to closely monitor the performance of Field Services Managers within their region. The General Manager reports directly to the Vice President Operations in all matters regarding the various projects that are in their region. The General Manager works closely with the National Sales Manager to grow and expand the company footprint within the utility industry, as well as all functional departments within the company.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE WITH 70% TRAVEL EXPECTED TO PROJECT SITES AND DISTRICT OFFICES.

IDEALLY TARGETING CANDIDATES BASED OUT OF OR, NV OR AZ, BUT OPEN TO OTHER AREAS IN THE WESTERN UNITED STAES.

Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Challenge the status quo, promote a proactive resolution, and endeavor to succeed. Instill this philosophy into their Area Managers.
  • Review performance data (financial, budgets, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels.
  • Monitor KPI’s to measure goal achievement then identify areas needing improvement to apply the company’s continuous improvement program.
  • Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency.
  • Review and forecast P&L with the Area Managers and initiate corrective actions as required.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Vice President of Field Operations.

Coaching and Development

  • Mentoring of the Area Managers to improve their knowledge, skills, and professional growth.
  • Observation 360 – at least 1 ride along per quarter with a Field Technician, Field Supervisor, and Area Manager. 1 personal efficiency improvement initiative per month. Review and discuss Area Manager’s efficiency improvement initiatives.

Client Relations

  • Determine operational requirements for Request for Proposal (RFP) including resources needed, training required, project scope, schedule, and pricing.
  • Review and approve all bid packages.
  • Meet with clients as required to maintain customer relations and promote open communications.
  • As needed, represent Heath Consultants at industry functions, exhibits, and conventions.

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience

  • BS, BE, BA or equivalent in business-related fields or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum Ten (10) years of utilities industry experience preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of managerial experience required.
  • Five (5) years of experience with profit and loss statements.
  • Successful experience in contract negotiations and budgets.
  • Gas Leak Survey, Meter Reading and Damage prevention experience preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to analyze data.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities are required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Expertise in the Office suite programs (specifically Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Must have the ability to understand a variety of software and computer systems.

SALARY RANGE: $175,000 – $190,000 plus annual bonus potential, car allowance, and benefits
