In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and executing a compelling category story that is adapted from the Cluster/BU direction by being the go-to expert on the ground, representing the category’s interests and direction while working closely with key stakeholders on building, implementing, and monitoring the category performance and delivering on the shopper agenda.

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

CDE primary responsibility is to drive & implement the commercial strategy farmwork and ensure Nestle business plans and execution meet shopper & customer needs.

Category:

  • Drive category expertise on the ground while representing the category to the customer supporting Sales & BU to win in the market and influence the customer agenda.
  • Champion and drive Category data analytics while assessing performance and driving actionable plans alongside the country’s management team to deliver on category objectives.
  • Activate local category growth driver & category selling stories.
  • To lead our short and medium term commercial planning processes & translate category MBS (Country strategies) into ICP (Commercial plans).
  • Identify areas of improvement and suggestion to optimize commercial growth.

Shopper:

  • Understand shopper purchase motivation & behavior by channel.
  • Lead the generation & interpretation of shopper understanding through sources of information and translate them into actionable insight relevant to category, brand, channel, and customer.
  • Monitor and report shopper trends, implications, and opportunities, leveraging supplier, customer and Nestlé network and tools to guide internal and external customers to future growth opportunities.
  • Lead on shopper activations and key implementations to leverage on the category plans in key customers while liaising with the cluster category team/OPC sales management and A&P leads to craft and execute shopper relevant activations.

Channel:

  • Full understanding of the roles and key enablers of each channel and assign the correct tactics & plans per channel to help achieve channel growth.
  • Coordinating and planning the execution of customer specific event, leading on the category growth driver’s implementation in key channels/customers.
  • Manage category gaps on channel/customer level by recommending a course of action with the sales community to deliver on category objectives.
  • Implement category/Channel captaincy (Placement / MSL / Planograms).
  • Review & Implement category POS across prioritized channel and enable its implementation and optimization while efficiently driving availability & visibility in physical and digital stores through perfect execution of POS.
  • Monitor and analyze competitive activities in the trade and recommend/adjust category’s commercial activities to drive a positive ROI while safeguarding overall category TTS through guiding and advising the sales community on the proper investment mix by channel/customer.
  • Manage category gaps on channel/customer level by recommending a course of action with the sales community to deliver on category objectives.

Strategic Revenue Management:

  • To Understand and plan optimal investment & portfolio choices per channel.
  • Sell the right product to the right customer at the right time for the right price and with the right pack.

What will make you successful…

  • 2-3 years of experience in a commercial role with a proven track record of delivering on results while being able to:
  • Understands customers and the commercial processes.
  • Understands roles and can manage with key functions (Sales/ MKTG/ General Management)
  • Drive the understanding of the different shopper missions, channel, and customer dynamics/roles & competitive landscape.
  • Possess a strong Business acumen & strong analytical skill.
  • High follow up, self-adherence & deadline oriented.
