Job Description

The Urology Centre opened in its current location in 2012 following a generous donation by local businessman, Alfred Staden.

The unit consists of 4 treatment/ consulting rooms and a procedure room where we perform procedures under local anaesthetic such as Trans-Perineal Prostate biopsies (LATP), Flexible Cystoscopies and Trans- Urethral laser Ablation of Bladder Tumours (TULA).

Alongside the procedure room, we also run daily Nurse led lists of flow rates, trial without catheters and catheter changes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Healthcare assistant, who has an interest and/ or experience in Urology, to join our team.

Assist in the provision of nursing care in relation to:

Safe manual handling of patients, after establishing best method.

The collection of specimens, i.e. clean catch urine; midstream urine and catheter specimen of urine.

Documenting admission details on relevant procedure paperwork.

Assist patients in meeting their continence needs.

Recognising the Equality and Diversity of patients, relatives and multi- disciplinary groups by supporting non- discriminatory practice and acknowledging the patients’ personal beliefs and identity.

Make effective use of Infection Prevention policies.
