Overview:
Aethos Hotels is looking for a Kitchen Porter to help manage our kitchen daily duties. The most successful candidate will have an authentic passion for the hotel industry, and a record of success in the hospitality industry. The Kitchen porter will assist in the cleaning of the equipment in the kitchen, responsibilities will include washing pots and pans, keeping floors clean, sanitizing food preparation areas and occasionally helping with food prep work.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- To wash and clean all china, including delicate ones
- To wash, clean and polish all cutlery
- To wash and polish all glassware
- To stow in an orderly way and in the correct places all clean materials
- To help in other duties and necessities in the kitchen when required, help in mise en places, cleaning ingredients and raw materials
Core Competencies:
- Fluent in English and Italian is a must.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally with all levels of employees
- Can handle the pressure of a high volume, high energy venue
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by kitchen staff and hotel team members
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Maintains a high standard of personal appearance and grooming
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- The candidate must hold the required authorization to work in a European country
