Position Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Prepare cold dishes and ensure proper setup and breakdown of workstations.
- Operate various kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Test food to confirm it is cooked to standard and monitor food quality during preparation.
- Serve food in proper portions and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing and disinfecting areas, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Check and ensure the correct temperature of appliances and food items.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to the manager.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
Teamwork & Professionalism:
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Protect company assets and ensure confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Communicate professionally and build positive relationships with team members.
- Support the team in achieving common goals and address concerns effectively.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire shift.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or a related field.
- Work Experience: At least 1 year of related culinary experience, preferably in Italian cuisine and experience from a 5-star or luxury property.
