Position
Dyna Robotics is seeking an innovative AI Research Engineer to spearhead the design and development of cutting-edge AI models for dexterous robotic manipulation—a critical pillar in driving our go-to-market applications and advancing our vision of adaptable, multi-functional robots. In this role, you’ll own the entire AI model lifecycle, from data acquisition and preprocessing through to deployment and real-world performance optimization. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping Dyna Robotics’ immediate product milestones and establishing a distinct competitive edge in the robotics industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts in designing general purpose robots, including mechanisms for joint motion transfer, enclosures, and other mechanical structures.
- Integrate cameras, sensors, and electronics including wiring into a space-efficient package, and ensure reliability and durability.
- Conduct load calculation to determine actuator selection, and apply analytical methods like FEA to ensure performance, safety, and reliability standards.
- Fabricate prototypes and iterate rapidly, oversee the development of core robotic system components, ensuring successful delivery from prototype to production
- Design fixtures and equipment for testing and calibration in prototype and production environments
- Have responsibility for components across all developing stages, including POC, prototypes, EVT, DVT, and PVT.
- Collaboration with research, engineering, and hardware teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in designing, developing, and integrating robotic systems, preferably have relevant experience in fields like humanoid robots, robotic arms, and rotary/linear actuators.
- Direct hands-on ability in mechanical design, familiar with electric motors, gears, serial and parallel mechanisms.
- Proficiency in mechanical principles, materials properties, and manufacturing processes. Experiences with manufacturing processes and capable of effectively transitioning products from prototype to mass production
- Genuine curiosity to new technologies, and capable of proposing and implementing new ideas, and integrating cross-domain knowledge into hardware development
