Join TriMet’s Talent Acquisition team! Associate Recruiters are responsible for all aspects of the recruitment, selection, and new hire onboarding processes for Operational Divisions’ entry level, promotional, or high volume Union recruitments.
As an Associate Recruiter on our team, you will:
– Independently review applications and conduct internal work history evaluations to identify the most qualified candidates.
– Partner with Training and Workforce Planning teams to forecast and strategize staffing needs.
– Focus on improving our hiring processes and new hire onboarding experience.
– Lead recruitment efforts for additional divisions as needed.
– Facilitate agency training sessions to support employee development.
– Monitor key KPIs and leverage data to foster continuous improvement.

This role requires being onsite a minimum of three (3) days per week.

Essential Functions
- Works independently and with discretion to manage the recruitment process for Operational Division recruitments, high volume recruitments, and oversees additional professional recruitments as needed. Uses independent judgement to identify, attract, and hire qualified candidates based on selection process methodology. Uses available screening tools such as reviewing criminal records checks, reference checks, and DMV record checks to accurately determine hiring eligibility.
- Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers and other key Agency stakeholders. Advises managers and department leaders on current Divisional hiring needs and goals based on market data. Makes hiring recommendations to management and agency stakeholders.
- Act as the Operation divisional in-house recruitment expert to establish successful staffing strategies. Provide full lifecycle recruiting services. Manages and maintains a high volume of recruitments.
- Establishes recruiting project timelines and independently ensures that each recruitment is completed within designated timelines. Updates and educates managers on appropriate use of selection tools, including online applicant tracking systems.
- Oversees the new hire, preboarding, and onboarding process.
- Provide career coaching to internal employees.
- Participate in community outreach activities that are targeted toward attracting a diverse applicant pool and workforce.
- Attend career fairs ranging from high school, college, veteran/disability specific events.
- Assist in job posting process for internal and external employment opportunities. Post job announcements with state required agencies.
Position Requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Human Resources being preferred.
One (1) year of total credited experience.*
One (1) year of experience in recruitment, human resources, or staffing is required.
One year (1) of experience in full cycle recruiting, including high-volume recruiting and social media sourcing is required.
American Staffing Assn (ASA) Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) or a similar Certification in Professional Recruitment is desired.
Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
