Location: Hybrid Remote (Headquarters located in Fort Pierce, Florida; relocation support available)

Job Overview

As a pivotal member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Chief Strategy & Operating Officer (CSOO) will be essential in propelling our mission forward by spearheading strategic initiatives and ensuring operational excellence. This role encompasses the oversight of critical operational functions, program development, and the cultivation of relationships with stakeholders, requiring expertise in business operations, lending, community finance, and regulatory compliance, along with a demonstrated ability to drive impactful collaboration and strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute operational strategies and key performance indicators (KPIs) in partnership with the Executive Director.
  • Supervise daily operations across all departments to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Align operational processes with mission-driven objectives and enhance performance for sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to strategize and implement expansion initiatives.
  • Manage procurement processes, vendor negotiations, and safety program compliance with OSHA, 2 CFR 200, and relevant federal or state regulations.
  • Partner with the CEO and CFO for budget management, resource allocation, and financial reporting.
  • Lead Strategic Development meetings and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders, including investors, foundations, and grantors at various levels.
  • Oversee the compliance of lending departments with applicable regulations governing our operations.
  • Ensure operational readiness for nationwide execution in line with regulatory standards.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in lending, ideally within Community Banks, Credit Unions, or CDFIs experiencing rapid growth.
  • Consumer/Financial Technology (Fintech) lending experience is advantageous.
  • Expertise in Project Finance and/or Commercial lending, including new construction for housing projects.
  • Proven leadership with a track record of enhancing organizational capacity and operational efficiency.
  • Strong financial acumen and data analysis capabilities, with experience in KPI development and performance reporting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with loan origination and servicing software is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., business, finance, public administration); a Master’s degree is preferred.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Salary Range: \(145,000 – \)175,000 (commensurate with experience)
