Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Analyzes meteorological data to prepare reports and forecasts considering the weather’s impact on energy markets across North America. Studies and interpret maps, synoptic reports, and charts to forecast lead times from now-casting severe weather events to seasonal outlooks. Supports traders by providing accurate, up to date, and innovative historical and forecasted weather information that will assist them in making well-informed trading decisions. Provides short, medium and long-range forecasts daily considering the impact renewable technologies will have on our markets. Monitor and analyze weather patterns and provide information and updates periodic updates; create seasonal hydro outlooks; and help BCMT decide on severe weather impacts to our geographically diverse plants and offices.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Seasoned professional; typically requires minimum of 3-5 years weather forecasting experience.
- 5-10 years of experience preferred.
- Experience with Energy, Trading & Renewable energy technologies is a plus.
- Python, MATLAB, R, GrADS or similar programming experience
- Understanding of commodities markets and global impacts of weather on Natural Gas and Crude Products.
Additional Benefit – Hybrid with On-Site in Houston, TX: Three times a week with Manager approval
