Job Description
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial trends month over month and year over year; identify deteriorating trends and explain ratio fluctuations in presentations to management.
- Reconcile dealership factory statements to tax returns/CPA statements; research irregularities and make adjusting entries in the financial analysis system.
- Prepare credit reviews which identify and detail the risk exposure in new or existing relationships; provide recommendations on loan requests.
- Review floor plan audit results, collect payments due, and communicate results to management; ensure audits are properly scheduled.
- Conduct floor plan audits at a dealership on occasion.
- Monitor payment trends at assigned dealerships and follow up on any irregularities identified.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with dealership personnel; respond quickly and professionally to requests.
- Travel to assigned dealerships on occasion to solidify relationships and monitor financial condition.
- Review loan documents, organizational documents, and UCC filings.
- Prepare loan documentation checklists and clear loan compliance exceptions.
- Prepare monthly reporting packages for management.
- Provide recommendations and work on projects to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting preferred, and/or equivalent work experience required.
- Knowledge of automotive dealer commercial credit operations (Inventory floor plan financing, working capital and acquisition loans, real estate mortgages and facility construction loans).
- Minimum of two years experience in commercial credit underwriting with an emphasis on the automotive field.
- Knowledge of commercial credit loan documentation.
- Strong critical credit analysis skills, including the ability to provide credit and financial statement analysis: sales and profit, liquidity and leverage, cash flow and debt service coverage, loan-to-value and collateral coverage, ratio measurement and trending—both statistically and in narrative form.
- Field floor plan auditing would be considered a plus.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision with effective time management of multiple priorities and organizational skills.
- Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills and exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
- Microsoft Office competence.
- Ability to travel when necessary, although not frequently.
