Housing Specialist – Remote

What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Manage an assigned caseload of Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) participants
• Conduct annual and interim recertifications within required time frames
• Process and monitor participant moves to new dwellings
• Educate participants on program requirements and family obligations
• Provide excellent customer service to participants, landlords, and co-workers

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Education equivalent to a four-year degree from a regionally accredited institution in Public Administration, Social Science, or a closely related field
• Minimum of two years of progressively responsible work experience for a public agency, or related work in the social service or community service field
• Alternatively, a two-year degree with four years of experience will satisfy the qualifications
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations pertaining to the program
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong computer and organizational skills

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience working with public housing authorities or similar organizations
• Knowledge of HUD regulations and other state and local requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflicts effectively
