Job Description
The Business Analyst will assist and support in the analysis, design, development, documentation, as well as testing and training effort associated with new and existing technologies and processes to support operations.
The Business Analyst will work with the project team and key stakeholders, support any implementation effort in alignment with enterprise standard workflow, operations, and clinical best practices. This may include new program launches, process improvement, and new technology deployment.
Responsibilities
- Point of contact for ongoing, sustaining operational support issues and questions.
- Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
- Supporting ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
- Maintain business relationship with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation that enables quality and process improvement for field staff
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to implement evidence-based processes/practices, including re-engineering and standardization of processes within operations
- Support activities and training with business users on new / improved operational processes, deployment of new technologies and applications in support of operational processes
- Assist with development, update and tracking of project management processes and deliverables (e.g. detailed task lists, project schedule, issue logs, financials, status reporting, ongoing monitoring and reporting)
- Participate in selection, implementation and training of new / revised software applications
- Provide training and advice on the use of information systems and technologies .
- Facilitate and participate in working sessions to elicit functional & non-functional requirements
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
- Staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
- Participate in process and quality improvement methodologies such as FMEA, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis etc.
- Performing user acceptance testing.
Requirements
- Degree in Business / Computer science / Informatics / Health sciences with supplemental business education is preferred (equivalent education and experience will be considered)
- Minimum 3 years of creating Business Requirements (user stories), Use Cases and Functional Specification documents
- Excellent communication, business analysis, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills Strong facilitation skills to elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, task and workflow analysis
- Knowledge of business, operations and information management
- Ability to effectively apply principles of adult learning
- User engagement and stakeholder management
- Project Management Profession (PMP) certification preferred
- Familiar with process and quality improvement methodologies
- Familiar with agile delivery model or keen passion to adapt to agile delivery model
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Visio and Outlook
- Experience with Microstrategy, Tableau or other business intelligence tools
- Previous experience training both face-to-face and virtually an asset
- Ability to quickly learn a variety of software applications
- A strong teamwork orientation and ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams
