Job Overview
As a Graphic Designer/ Desktop Publisher, you will be responsible for designing and producing high-quality digital assets and printed materials. You will work closely with our Investment Management and Communication teams to develop investor presentations, quarterly reports, newsletters, social media graphics, and other communication materials in alignment with Cortland’s brand guidelines.
Roles You Will Play
- Produce original graphic designs using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or other design software.
- Edit and enhance images, illustrations, and photographs to ensure high-quality visuals.
- Develop custom graphics, charts, infographics, and illustrations to support communication strategies.
- Review and edit content to ensure accuracy.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and ensuring quality outputs.
- Organize and maintain design files, templates, and digital assets for future use.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with brand standards and project requirements.
- Work closely with Investment Management, Communications, and Creative team members to understand project objectives and timelines.
- Present design concepts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback to refine and finalize designs.

Building Blocks of Success
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5+ years of experience in desktop publishing, graphic design, or a related field.
- Experience with layout design and production for print and digital media.
- Experience in the real estate industry and/or with investor materials is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other software, including Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Keen understanding of typography, color theory, and composition.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders and understand their vision and requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
