Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations by combining medical and administrative duties, including but not limited to:
Administrative Duties
- Serve as the first point of contact by welcoming patients and visitors in person or over the phone.
- Schedule appointments for new and existing patients to optimize provider schedules and ensure patient satisfaction.
- Verify patient insurance, collect payments, and maintain accurate records and accounts.
- Answer inquiries or refer them to appropriate channels.
- Keep the front office clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Clinical Duties
- Perform patient room prep, record vital signs, and assist in point-of-care testing.
- Draw labs, handle lab samples, and perform wound care, EKGs, basic X-rays, and IV administration, etc.
- Support providers with procedures and patient assessments.
- Maintain medical equipment and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Licenses/Certifications (Required)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred)
- IV Certification (Preferred)
- X-Ray Technician Certification (Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare facility, preferably in Primary Care or Urgent Care settings.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and ICD/CPT coding.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, maintain meticulous attention to detail, and stay organized.
- IT-savvy with basic knowledge of healthcare software and tools.
Additional Requirements
- Active Driver’s License.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred).
- Must pass a background check.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, Weekends
- Clinic Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
